Our NEW Stringed Instruments Rental Policy

We have given serious consideration to the comments and advice of those many string teachers whose students rent instruments from us. These teachers have urged us to make our Rental Policy more inclusive. Thus, in response to so many helpful suggestions, we have devised a New Rental Policy. Now, our Rental Insurance Coverage not only protects the renter against liabilities due to fire and theft but also the free replacement of broken strings. This Policy will take effect as of January 1, 1998.

RENTAL CREDIT ACCOUNT

The remarkable and unique feature of our rental program is the special way it functions. It is much like a savings account. The rental fees you pay are not "lost money." Rather, to a significant limit, they accumulate as rental credits -- which means that they are actually an investment, which may be used, in the outright purchase of a stringed instrument outfit.

Here is how it works. Except for the first three months' payment, the full rental fee is posted to your rental credit account. Your "savings" are accumulating, and therefore appear on your quarterly invoice as a steady-growing rental credit. The longer your rental history, the larger the credit you have earned.

And as much as the full, 100% rental credit can be applied to your purchase of any stringed instrument outfit in our shop -- up to 50% of the retail price. Thus, for example, a $1,000 rental credit may be applied in full to the purchase of a $2,000 instrument. Or $750 of the same credit may be applied against the purchase of a $1,500 instrument -- with the $250 credit balance remaining in your control should you wish to make another purchase in the future.

Certain limitations do apply, however. Whether you purchase, or simply return your rental outfit to Reuter & Sons, the rental credit -- all of it, if you make no purchase at the moment; the balance, if an elected purchase uses only part of your account's funds -- remains at your disposal for up to five full years after you have stopped renting.

Without boasting, we would like to point out that this is an eminently fair policy and -- as we have said -- a policy unique to our shop. IT MAKES FRITZ REUTER & SONS A DECIDEDLY ATTRACTIVE PLACE TO DO BUSINESS! Moreover, we warrant that NO third party will receive a kick-back, bribe, commission, finder's fee, or any remuneration vis-avis fees or on the subsequent purchase price of merchandise or repair services.
